Well, I think your English's pretty good. Since most forum members do NOT speak German, I guess it would be very appreciated if you continued to post in English. You'll grow into it quickly. (Trust me, I'm German).

I'm proficient in German, but I don't learn it any more, so I doubt I'd do well in conversation!

Since most of our people suck with english... i understand your point.
But english is a really simple language compared to german

just go for it, have a drink if you need loosen your tongue, ehm fingers ^^
