Bought my first pair of linesman rubber gloves. Got em on eBay. They are normally used when working on high voltage electrical systems. These are size 7, 14 inches long and completely smooth and unlined. They are relatively thick. They fit me very well and are great play gloves.

O, wow, I've wanted linesman gloves for years! (The gloves in my profile picture are linesman as well.) But they are always so damn expensive.
These look beautiful! How much were they? And are there more on eBay?

I paid around $96 shipped, which isn't terrible as they usually go for well over $100. I don't know if there are more in this color and size combination on eBay. Size 7 isn't too popular in linesman gloves from what I've seen.
I love rubber gloves!

Oh, that's ok. I'd need a size 8 anyway.
But, yeah, around $100 is what they usually cost, and I'm not quite willing to pay that much.
I would think they're most similar to Marigold Emperor gloves. What would you say is the difference between both kinds that warrants that huge price tag?

I have seen some yellow in size 8 on eBay, both 11 inch and 14 inch.Rommeltje wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 11:29 pm Oh, that's ok. I'd need a size 8 anyway.

The linesman gloves are made to exact specification for protection from high voltage and carry a certification for that. There are 4 or 5 different classes of these gloves, the higher you go, the higher the voltage they protect against. The emperors are just meant for chemical resistance so they are cheaper.
