General Video Games

Post by camuel »

Are you playing any video games right now?
Do you play casualy or are you trying to git gud?
What's your favourite game of all time?
Were you ever at some point really really good at something?

Personally I have just picked up Heroes of Might and Magic 3 where I left it seven years ago.
Six months ago, me and my friends were trying to get into professional Smash Bros Melee.
The new WOW expansion sucked balls. I played for two weeks.
Hearthstone was fun before the introduction of wild and standard
I miss playing DotA2 but at the same time I don't
Age of Empires 1 is the greatest game of all time

Indeed I am! At the moment, I'm playing:
- Assassin's Creed: Unity (I really like it, btw, all the bugs after the release gave it some very bad press, but now that it's mostly fixed, I think it's a fantastic game, and is in my top three AC games (together with Brotherhood and Black Flag)).
- South Park: The Stick of Truth (It's funny, but I'm not really a fan of turn based games.)
- GTA V (Awesome, of course. I just finished the main story the other day, still got lots of stuff to do.)
- Bioshock (I finished Infinite last year, which made me want to play the earlier two games. Like it so far.)
- Hitman Absolution
- Dishonored (bought both of these in a Steam sale and haven't played them much yet, but I like them so far.)
- Skyrim (I mainly like modding it so that it becomes a porn game.)

Casually.

Well, I've got every installment of the Assassin's Creed games, so I obviously really like those. And I've always been a fan of Zelda as well. I don't really have one favorite game of all time, but I have really fond memories of the Donkey Kong series on the SNES. :)

Nah, I quite suck at gaming, actually.

-Assassin's Creed: Really fun. Haven't played an AC game since black flag though.

South Park: The Stick of Truth was fun. More fun in a movie type way. The gameplay was alright but it lacked endgame. Waiting for the new one.

-GTA 5: Have spent to much time draining the single player content. Multiplayer is booring. You spend a lot of time creating a
character and the moment you enter the city you get run over by a pimped out neon tank with a 12 year old laughing at you in voice chat.

-Skyrim: To much time of my life spent on this world. When skyrim were fresh I were supposed to go to a lan part at a friends house.
We were eight people and the plan was to keep it running for at least a week. The day before my gaming laptop got stolen and I had
to settle with xbox+skyrim for 7 days staight.

Havent played Bioshock, Hitman Absolution or Dishonored

I generally can't stand modern games, but here some of my favorites.

Unreal Tournament 2004: A very fast paced and skill based arena FPS. I'm decent at it, but get my ass handed to me online. The highest bot skill I can play on is Adapt.

Populous: The Beginning: The third game in the Populous series by Bullfrog. Unlike the previous games that were god games, this is an RTS, where you control a tribe led by a woman with godlike powers called the Shaman. Its pretty simplistic compared to other RTS's but its hard to master the online multiplayer, and is a blast to just walk through the enemy base with your Shaman, and unleash destructive spells like tornadoes, earthquakes, firestorms (fireballs rain from the sky), and volcanoes. You can also alter the terrain with spells like landbridge, flatten, and erode.

Mount & Blade Warband: A highly in depth, sandbox medieval war simulator set in a land called Calradia, where six factions are constantly at war with one another. You may join one of the factions, help a claimant takeover one of the factions, or take a town or castle for yourself, and become the ruler of your own faction.

Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall: While very dated by today's standards I personally enjoy it a hell of a lot more than Oblivion and Skyrim. There are certain things this game does better than the other TES games. For starters I like how your spells actually get more powerful as you increase your magic skills, instead of having to buy a more powerful version or make custom spells. I also like the leveling system better than the completely robust way it was done in Morrowind and Oblivion, where you were basically punished for not using certain skills by not getting good attribute bonuses when you level up, where as Daggerfall would randomly give you 4 to 6 points to spend. I also liked the highly in depth character creation system, and the dungeon crawling, despite the fact that the dungeons are massive mazes that are very easy to get lost in. Only thing I don't like about it is that its buggy as hell, which is to be expected from Bethesda games, but some of them can cost you an hour or two of progress (corrupt saves, game crashes when you try to turn in a quest, thus forcing you to reload an earlier save to get a new one).

Osawari Island: A hentai browser game found on http://www.nutaku.net/ Right now the only reason I play this game is because some of the girls are so cute, and the gameplay is more tolerable for me than some of the other games I tried on there.

Ah, if we're also talking hentai games, I can really recommend Summertime Saga! :)' Discovered that last week. It's still in development, but already very good!

Unreal Tournament 2003/2004! I tend to forget about those games. Best FPS ever!

I don't play hentai games. But I highly recommend Katawa Shoujo. Google it.
Spoiler: There is porn later in the game

Are you playing any video games right now?

Not right now. But I do game, when I'm not doing an assignment for university.
Top five games I always go back and play:
Left4dead/left4dead 2
Euro Truck Simulator
Race 07
Grid Auto sport
CS:GO

Do you play casualy or are you trying to git gud?

Casually. I don't have the time to go pro.

What's your favourite game of all time?

Deus Ex (the original) More than just a game, it was an engaging narrative.

Were you ever at some point really really good at something?

Never, I'm very inconsistent. Sometimes I'm a noob sometimes I'm fairly competent (applies to FPS games only)
