Because I've used 10 and honestly don't like it... even with Classic Shell. I'd rather not relearn how to use Windows. Once 7 is no longer receiving support I'm gonna install and learn to use Linux or Ubuntu. I was just discussing this with my aunt last night, as a matter of fact. She's all for Windows 10 and told me to ditch 7, and I'm just like, "Over my maggot-eaten body." XD My mobo supports it, anyway. My machine is a 6th gen, but I want to eventually build an 7th gen machine.

Yeah, a pair of black latex hairdressing gloves--don't remember the exact brand now. XD I'm quite well aware of ESD and the damage it can do to computer components if not handled correctly.

I haven't seen that post until just now! That's awesome--we're both wearing black gloves to handle the components.
Also came here to say that my new PC is finally up and running!! Had it taken to a specialist on Wednesday and got it back Friday, and just got it fully running around 2am this morning! Turns out my processor just wasn't seated correctly... which is strange, because I'd seated it just like it said in the instruction booklet and in the videos I've watched. I'll gladly share photos of my build with y'all later. It's almost 5am now and I need some well-deserved rest--been trying to get Windows 7 and all the drivers installed on it all day yesterday and all last evening. Twas a pain in the ass, but I managed to do it all myself! Now I just need to put software on it. XD

Why is that, actually? I've always wondered. I can do anything I want on my PC. I used to sort of agree that Final Cut was better than Adobe Premiere, but that was before Final Cut X and Adobe CS6. Now Premiere is miles ahead - in my opinion anyway. And I can't think of any other graphic software that's better on the Mac.

I use to be very anti Windows 10 myself till I forced myself to it when attempting a dual boot setup with Win 7 and 10 and ended up accidently wiping my SSD (lol). Didn't lose much thankfully and managed to get the dual boot working after, but after using Win 10 for the last 4 months, it's definitely not as bad as I thought compatibility-wise. Remember having more issues with it a couple years back, though it's not perfect, I still use Win 7 for at least a couple of older games. I've also jumped to 4K in my PC setup now, so the extra benefits in Win 10 help more there for certain drivers.

O yeah, good point! Dual booting is indeed an excellent way to gently dip your toe in the water of Windows 10 if you don't trust it (yet). I was very happy with Windows 7 initially as well, and didn't particularly care for Windows 8(.1, actually), but 10 is definitely the best version they've had so far (although I do use OldNewExplorer to fix a few things in the UI). If you just put it in dual boot, Carrie, you can try it out and easily get rid of it if you still really don't like it.

Yup! I'm just waiting on a WiFi card. My mobo didn't have integrated WiFi.
