Okay, these aren't mine, of course.
But these are links to some truly remarkable works by Holoacoustic/Holophonic/3D "Virtual Sound" masters who have put together these videos to enable us to hear 3D sound.
To watch these videos:
* You must have a pair of headphones
* Both left and right ear must be working.
The effect will not work if you are not listening through headphones.
I also advise you close your eyes while listening to this.
Allow the entire video to buffer (let the pale red bar reach the end of the clip before you press play) so your experience isn't disrupted!
More to be posted as I discover them!
Hope you enjoy these, they truly are magnificent!

Those were....amazing. Just amazing. I could actually feel like I was getting my hair cut (speaking of which, am in need of one) and I could feel the person wandering around me shaking the matches. Your rep was earned!

Re: Jake's Holophonic Video Area
I think the most effective part is where the person in the third video shakes the matches down below you. If you stand in a clear space, shut your eyes and stand upright it's weird as hell. I opened my eyes and was disappointed no matches were on the floor :P

Had my brother do the virtual barber one. When Luigi started using the razor I touched the side of my brother's head, scared the living shit out of him.

A couple of those are featured in the videos I've posted already, but that high-pitched sound was new to me :Praystanz wrote:I flippin' LOVE these! Thanks for sharing them

Aaah I see. The matchbox one had the lady in it at the beginning. I didn't look at that one cause I figured it was just matches LOL.

Re: Jake's Holophonic Video Area
Almost a year after posting this I feel saddened that I was never able to find the sounds of the Philippines city (I think it was the Philippines...) in a binaural recording again.
Was probably the most realistic one of the lot, I listened to it at midnight when I wasn't completely switched on and awoke suddenly going "argh!!!" thinking I was about to get run over by a bus. Yes.
Sadly I never favourited it on YouTube or anything :/ I'm sure someone else is going to find it straight away, and it'll turn out to be Ipswich or Chelmsford or somewhere not so interesting.
