Re: Bolero gloves and Dress gloves
Bolero or bolero jacket are common in women's fashion. It is an unbuttoned jacket reaching half of the upper body (usually only covering the chest)
If you ask about the origin of using the word bolero. Apparently it came from the jackets of Spanish bolero dancers

Re: Bolero gloves and Dress gloves
Great topic Bolero is the queen of all glove indeed.
It surely has a Spanish origin , beside Spanish dancer , Matador also wear this piece too (chaquetilla) which is one of ten parts of the Traje de luces (suit of lights)
My best guess is some fashion house adopted this style to the Runway with glove added to the Bolero Jacket in the past (No idea which era) , and the glove shops got this idea from them and started making their own glove Bolero line.

Re: Bolero gloves and Dress gloves
Please do! These gloves look amazing, shame that they are in the dark almost all the way through. I'm wondering what they are made of; the palms of the hands look different, fabric rather than leather? Can't think why you'd do that but....operalove wrote:Thanks for the hint! You mean this video?
Too bad the resolution is not top. I can't see in details but it looks amazing and +1 for the ring over the glove
I will keep you updated if I find more links

mrs uni it seems to me that the gloves are part of the outfit, on the forearm you can see the buttons that can facilitate the dressing of the whole. Either way it looks amazing.

The video resolution is so low, it is not easy to tell... I think it is leather but maybe the cut is different than standard opera glovesmrs uni wrote:Please do! Re: Bolero gloves and Dress gloves
By the way, I found another picture, it is not clear but I think it is a bolero glove. From the instagram of the Youtuber/Ex-Viner Inanna Sarkis
