Super heroes going more gloveless?

One of my fascination with gloves when I was a child are cartoon characters. I am not a big fan of Marvel or DC comics but I like a good heroine in a sexy spandex suit and especially with boots and gloves.
When I saw the Captain Marvel movie promotions, I frequently saw this picture



And yummi, it is so hot when a woman pulls her gloves to tighten them like that...but then I watched the trailer in the movie, the actress is wearing fingerless gloves.



I don't know if many superhero movies are following this trend but I am not really enjoying female characters so much as I used to fantasize before

Is it also the cartoons or just real life actresses maybe getting fed up w/ badly breathing gloves? They might have to do a lot of takes in sweaty outfits, a few fresh air gaps might be quite the relief...?

Is she in those fingerless gloves duting the whole movie?

Because I just found a Tumblr post with Brie Larson in some amazing thin leather (probably vintage) gloves

She should have worn these in the movie

There's a strong push to make superhero costumes functional rather than sexy. Gloves (and high heeled boots) are unfortunate casualties. I've noticed that fingerless gloves seem to be associated with more youthful and "cool" costumes.

These fingerless "biker gloves" are killing me. They are ruining the whole outfit!!

I watched a French horror movie recently (Inside, 2007 with Alysson Paradis and Béatrice Dalle)
The movie's content is controversial and might be disturbing for some audiences but the thing is an evil woman wears black dress, a corset and sexy black leather gloves in the beginning when she breaks into the young mum's house. Eventually she wants to obtain that woman's unborn baby.
....but before she is betaking to torture her, takes of those sexy leather gloves in the beginning of the movie....

Fingerless gloves are ghastly. Especially on a superhero. Film producers, please take note and stop this at once!
