Here are a few highlights:
Now. Some YouTube comments on this and other videos said things like: “This is the work of a fellow glove fetishist.” And I thought: “Nice thought, but probably not true. They most likely just wanted something shiny that looks good on video.”
However, I found another 1-minute video: a time lapse of the production process. Everything happens so fast that you actually can only see the key discovery if you analyse the video frame by frame.
And here is what happened: It seems they made the model put the long latex gloves on at the beginning of the working day, and then they never allowed her to take them off again. These pictures show her cleaning the floor at the beginning of the process, wearing jeans, t-shirt, SHINY LONG LATEX GLOVES, and a pair of blue-yellow household rubber gloves on top!
Then, she helps set up the studio, still wearing the same combination:
Then, she puts on the Santa costume, but they are still setting up. She continues to wear long latex gloves AND household gloves.
The tree and presents are ready now. She takes off the household gloves and they can start shooting.
After a long time shooting, there’s more setting up to do. Her feet hurt so she takes her boots off to be more comfortable. But she never thinks of taking her long latex gloves off. Instead, she dons the rubber gloves again.
She puts her boots back on, removes the household gloves, and back to shooting.
Later, a shooting pause. She puts her household rubber gloves back on.
Boots are off again. Her long latex gloves NEVER come off.
Finally, the shooting is finished. Time to clean up.
She could take her long latex gloves off now. But she doesn’t. She remembers that she should wear her household gloves to protect her beautiful latex gloves.
Will she ever take her gloves off?
Sadly, the video ends too soon, but I like to think the she kept her gloves on for many more hours. Look just how happy she is in those gloves!
