I just can't get my head around it Romm. It is us, fetishists who sexualize common objects like certain clothes or fabrics but people have to realize that the other part, in this case the CC's, often don't see that sexual/fetish part in these objects and trying to force a CC to do it won't make her or him like them in a fetish kind of way, most probably they will get creeped out and avoid these certain objects or actions.
I really don't think wearing rubber gloves more often would induce a fetish on someone, it's either there from the start or it's not.

I really enjoyed Vik's channel (ngl, I've downloaded all of her glove videos because I really dig her looks and the way she presented them) and hoped she'd get many more views as her glove vids got like 10-20x times as much as her other videos and would've been a great popularity boost every now and then, in between her normal videos.
She only has like 420 subs at the moment and her glove videos were pretty unique. Then the 'pushers' came and it all went to hell.

What I witnessed on youtube is that discreet glove fetishists befriend new asmr youtubers. They then groom the newbie youtuber in question to ensure they continue making content. The youtuber thinks their videos are soothing peoples anxiety. It never crosses their mind people see their videos in a sexual way.

As the youtuber uploads videos their normal asmr gets no views, whilst their glove content does much better. For efficiency they then upload more glove content. It makes absolutely no sense to upload a hair brushing asmr if it doesn't get the views. It's a waste of time and effort. They want success and all they know is their small subscriber-base wants gloves. The youtuber sees the glove content getting higher views and they follow with what's popular. Still unaware of the deviant nature of many of their subscribers who're encouraging them. They still don't know they're being deceived or groomed. Often they're naïve and have no idea sexual fetishes exist for rubber gloves. They think people just find the look of them relaxing and the sounds calming.

As time goes by people encourage them to upload more specific videos. Dish washing asmr, rubber glove donning asmr, triple layered glove asmr. The videos themselves are strange, yet the youtuber trusts their oldest subscribers so does it thinking it will pay off and is just innocent asmr. These kinds of videos cause the channel to get even more views and comments. It seems alright for a while, but these strange requests never stop though.

As the youtuber gets more subscribers and views they begin reaching larger audiences. In this larger audience the less discreet glove fetishists appear. They begin leaving comments about the gloves such as: "You look sexy in gloves", "I want you to touch me with the gloves" and "What brand of gloves are they?". These questions begin to make the youtuber question what they're doing. They start to wonder if people are just there for their ASMR or for sexual gratification. Every old comment they study on their older videos that says something along the lines of: "I love your glove asmr videos :)" is picked apart in their mind. They realize they have been deceived by some of their most "loyal" subscribers and that people are masturbating to their videos.

The youtuber would NEVER consciously decide to create porn showing their faces. Yet their ASMR videos are being used as porn with their faces fully visible. It must be a horrible thing to discover that your content is basically porn for some creepy weirdos. I reckon most asmrists don't even know glove fetishes exist when they first start out, but they all find out eventually due to the comments and email harassment they receive.

It usually ends in 4 different ways:
1. They stop uploading and / or delete their videos / channel.
2. They delete their glove videos and continue posting other asmr (whilst avoiding gloves at all costs.)
3. They decide to keep going, but hide their faces so you only see close ups of their gloves during asmr videos.
4. They decide to capitalize off their subscriber-base for more income via patron, paypal, onlyfans, etc.

Most ASMRists won't be OK with people tricking them into making glove content so people can masturbate to their videos. This causes them to delete their channels or videos when they finally realize. I've witnessed it happen a dozen times already. Many youtubers are basically groomed and by the time they realize what's happened they'd already uploaded multiple glove videos. Three youtubers come to mind who were groomed by glove fetishists. After they realized what was going on they deleted their videos. One even deleted their channel. It's just sad.

Also aside from being creeps they are also just very dumb like just enjoy it for what it is and shut up about it, but no they just keep pushing the limits until the creator gets tired or creeped out and decides to nuke the whole channel or stop doing anything with gloves ever again. YouTube is not the site to make those weird comments and make someone else part of your fantasy when they haven't asked for it.

I remember a Car Preview/Review channel that had a female host that always had driving gloves on when she was test driving the cars, after the creeps flooded the comment sections she stopped using gloves al together.. that's why we can't have nice things. Enjoy and shut up.

This is the best description I ever read about the mechanism of grooming altogether, and how it specifically works in case of ASMR contributors and glove fetishists.
I guess it's known I find all situations in which people are lured into wearing gloves under false pretexts utterly despicable. It's a sign of immaturity and not being on terms with one's own fetish. It's really very simple: try to be open about your fetish within a relationship, and you might be surprised how much is possible in most cases. And if not, well, make a trade off, and decide how much your fetish is worth to move on. When yet another link to a gloved ASMR video shows up on this forum, I can't keep on wondering what these girls would think should they know people are jerking off on their content. And also, I simply don't understand why these requests keep coming, as there's more than enough explicit glove content freely available on the web.

I think GlamorousGloves has summarised the situation extremely well - and reading that post made me feel very uncomfortable that glove fetishists would stoop to these predatory levels. It's scary and somehow the faceless nature of the internet makes it even worse. For what it's worth, here's my thoughts.

I have experienced ASMR tingles - in fact long before it was a 'thing' (and I had no idea what it was!) and in fact long before YouTube - but in no way related to gloves. I do occasionally watch/listen to some of the ASMR artists and it can be very relaxing, but it's not glove content that does it for me. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the sound of household rubber gloves, but it's a turn-on and not ASMR - very distinct things. It happens in private in a consensual setting. For anyone to attempt to manipulate others for their own sexual pleasure in this way is, quite frankly, sick.

If you get turned on by watching gloved ASMR, so be it, but you shouldn't then attempt to harass or pursue any of the content creators. Go find a video, or someone willing to make you a video in a sexual context.

In analysis, I think this probably stems from the fact that (generalising) ASMR as a practice is often done by young attractive women who show a caring and sensitive side to their nature, offering 'personal attention', and perhaps some with a fetish (again generalising) can misconstrue this, and then go further to manipulate it for their own gains.

I think one always has to stop and do a sanity check. A glove fetish is very much a minority thing, that the vast majority will not even know about, much less understand or participate in. I always work on the 'presumed normal' basis (and I mean that tongue in cheek as a fetish is not necessarily abnormal) until I know different. I suspect even fetish creators get harassed - I notice some of the lovely ladies who used to post here no longer do...

I would appeal to members to always think carefully before acting - put yourself in the other persons shoes as a non-fetishist and think how you might feel then. Is it creepy? Then don't do it. Don't give the community a bad name and freak out innocent content creators.
