New marigold gloves - Fresh Feel Household Gloves

Post by meistrllapgoch »

Good Morning.

Does anybody know what these new gloves are like?
https://www.marigold.co.uk/fresh-feel-household-gloves
They are described as having a foam lining rather than cotton flocking.
The colour looks good.
They have a zig-zag edge to the cuffs.
But it doesn’t say whether they are chlorinated…

They are the same gloves, because they belong to the same company, Freudenberg. How I hate the Vileda gloves...make them with longer cuffs, is not that hard!!

Thank you tigga76 and gopcha.
Do either of you know if the vileda version/branded ones are chlorinated?
I hope they don’t shorten the yellow marigolds…

Vileda gloves have got shorter and bigger. They always used to have nice long, close fitting cuffs - not anymore. I think they also chlorinate the insides now, which makes the gloves stiffer, although that may not be the case with the fresh feel.

There seems to be a general trend in household gloves towards shorter, bigger fitting gloves, sadly.

Well they do also make Playtex / OCedar gloves and the Playtex Living ones they make have cuffs almost to the elbows and a close fitting glove and cuff (think Marigold Bathroom gloves). I'd recommend giving them a go instead.

I remember these Fresh Feel gloves from years ago and these ones had an unusual texture to them, like spongy? Way too blooming short back then too, used them mainly for gardening as they were so short they were far from ideal for housework.

Can confirm they're the same thing. The Marigold ones only come in one size (M), but the Marigold size is equivalent to the Vileda large. The Vileda small size are exceptionally tight and the cuff is longer than the larger sizes for some reason.

The insides are foam, so they're not chlorinated inside. I don't think they're chlorinated outside either.

So I was wrong about the longer cuffs. Oddly, they’re the same size but because the small size is tighter it gives the illusion that it’s a more streamlined and longer fit. I bought the Viledas recently in Italy and unfortunately couldn’t find any but the small size to compare with the Marigolds, but I’m quite sure the medium Vileda aren’t as big as the medium Marigolds.

I think Italian Viledas are smaller across the board, although looking at their website, the small in Italy is now a size 7 where it used to be 6.5.

Personally I love the look of a closer fitting cuff, but I know many like the 'wobble' of a bigger cuff.
