Some of you have been waiting for this for a long time, but we now finally have an SSL enabled site! Hooray! :whoop:

That is all. Carry on. :-)

Tpt35 wrote: Sat Jul 14, 2018 2:13 pm SSL should be added to this forum as it protects the users and contributors here. It really easy and free to setup now with from the project https://letsencrypt.org/

I did notice the httpS vs. the old http is not synchronized: I am logged in on the former, not the latter.
(Chrome, Win7)

Interestingly, just now I was still logged in on my half decade old Samsung Galaxy tablet (android, Dolphin browser) and I could navigate via Notifications to the other Forums Suggestions thread on this subject. However when I clicked the link R0mmie made to navigate through to here, it finally switched to httpS, and gave a blank page...

:hmm: Hmm, very possible. There are definitely some kinks we still need to smooth out.

What happens exactly when you try to log in? And have you come to the forum by typing the url? Or did you use an old bookmark or something?

And have you tried purging the cache of the browser on your iPad?

*Edit: Actually we've had this problem last time I tried installing SSL. I figured out what the problem was back then. But that should not be an issue this time around.

If none of the above works, let me know. I'll try the fix from last time again and see if that does the trick.

Does this mean that google and other search engines will still find content? Google found the sandbox ("full" member status not required) with the old http (but not stuff in the "members club" area) ... does this change anything there? Just curious

No, access to forums for users and bots stays the same.
The data being sent back and forth is simply being encrypted now.
