Embedding Videos (very nice ones included, btw)

Post by Rommeltje »

It's real easy to embed videos in your posts, and very convenient for readers too.

For embedding youtube videos just click on the "youtube="-button on the top right side of where you write a post. All you have to do is add the Youtube-ID between the = and ] signs. The ID is the sequence of characters and symbols in a Youtube-url that comes after "watch?v="

So, for example this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLexZSxZUuE

becomes

[ youtube= oLexZSxZUuE ][ /youtube ], (without the spaces),

or:

Moreover you could make the video start whenever you want by putting the time (in seconds) between the brackets and adding the word time, without any space, just behind the words youtube (both of them). Then if we want the video to start when she puts the blue gloves on, just count the seconds (2:30= 150sec] and go like this:

[ youtubetime= oLexZSxZUuE ] 150 [ /youtubetime ], (without the spaces),

or:

The ID can also be sometimes before "&feature=related"

So, for example this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNiKn6Vg ... re=related

becomes

[ youtube= fNiKn6VgtHQ ][ /youtube ], (without the spaces),

or:

You can find an alternative explanation for embedding youtubes in this post.

You can also, with a little more effort, embed videos from other platforms like vimeo:

you'll have to write the code manually, but it's the same as for youtube, just put vimeo instead of youtube:

[ vimeo = ] [ / vimeo]

So, for example this link: https://vimeo.com/178810640

becomes

[ vimeo= 178810640][ /vimeo], (without the spaces),

or:
[vimeo=178810640][/vimeo]
