Shopping guide for fetish latex gloves (US)

Post by 3clipse »

I can try and help with the store side of buying some gloves. This will be a longer ramble-y post but I have been meaning to get to writing on this for the US based fetish glove lovers out there. (***this is all from my own experience so please chime in if you know otherwise/better***) TLDR; at the bottom:

^^^
This reddit post was made not that long ago (maybe by someone from here?) and goes over a lot of good factors that go into choosing a pair of fetish latex gloves that might be good dip molded rather than hand crafted which seem to be much rarer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

To start off, there seem to to be a number of molded resellers out there all kind of doing what is mentioned in the reddit post (reusing pictures from a common SW photoset, or just taking their own model). However, the main groups that you will run into online at stores are either going to be from Denber Rubber Ltd or Latexa, both are molded type gloves. There may be a few smaller groups that do the machine assembled gloves but I will be calling them globally by Denber in this. On the other hand, Latexa is hand dipped as per some correspondence I have had with a few sellers in the past.

***I have never ordered any of the ones off of Amazon. Certain ASMR people have gotten them and their videos have been great but I have never tried them***

So what's the difference? With molded gloves it tends to be fairly good all around but each brand comes with its own issues. My breakdown is:

Denber
Pros:
- They basically have the formula down now. The variation in thickness, quality used to vary a whoooole lot more than it does now
- They're much cheaper and easier to find/get than Latexa
- Because of that ^ you can "use and abuse" them a bit more without feeling too bad about your wallet
- Also don't have to constantly clean them, as in don't need to do the whole wash them with vivishine and hang them out to dry. I tend to just leave the shiner on the outside of them

Midground:
-They can be a little tight around the ball of where your thumb meets your wrist, and I have seen reviews that say the fingers are kind of short leading to a tension on the back of your hand. Depending on the size of your hands it can be good or bad.

Cons:
- They are somewhat prone to pinhole breaks since they are more manufactured than the others. For example, I've had a pair of elbow gloves come to me with a pinprick hole on the middle finger. It's not as detrimental as say one in the area between the thumb and index finger but it is something you can feel if the gloves are kind of loose on you.
- In line with that, they can show up already with breaks. I did have a pair of wrist gloves from a Denber reseller show up with the index finger being super thin on the fingerprint and it ripped through on first use even with lube.

Latexa
Pros:
- This is a feel thing. They just feel a little nicer, mainly in the quality of the construction but the rubber also is a bit more supple and may be something you want to chlorinate and take care of. It's just a little bit softer all around especially on the donning of them. *Not chlorinated smooth out of the box though*
- For being premium they are still widely available. You might want to do your research on where you get them since price range for them can vary greatly (Ex. The Latex Store has them currently for $45.99, while Vex has the same ones for $65. I'm not trying to sh*t on Vex since I've had good experiences with them, I just wanted to point out more a visible example).
- Personally I have not had one of these do the pinhole break on me yet and I have had my first pair for about 5 years now. They can also smell a bit sweeter but on the lighter side of that spectrum.

Cons:
- Since they are hand dipped, they can take a good long while to make. Normally for the colors outside of the usual red and black, expect to wait about a month and a half unless a website says they are currently in stock. Even if they do it is best to check before you order since mine took about 2 months to get to me due to a manufacturing error (no one store's fault really but just a bit surprising).
- Mentally it might be harder to go to town using them since they are harder to replace. I generally have trouble using them for anything outside of wearing them unless I can already tell that they're going to break or if they're in an easily replaceable color.

Midground FOR BOTH BRANDS:
- The hand size can be on the side of a your mileage may vary. I usually wear a side medium and between the two Latexa's size medium hands are still a tiiiiiny bit big on me. I by no means have small hands but it must be based on the way that the mold must have been made since Denber's size medium comes in just a touch too small for me in the hand area. Not unwearable for either but I can't wear Denber forever due to constriction, and Latexa's extra space allows for some more sweat. Again, your mileage may vary.

----------------------------------------------------------------

As a side note to the above, pretty generally at least for US and Canadian stores if it says "Premium" thick or thin in the title and it is around $60 USD/CAD/sometimes GBP, for a pair then you can pretty safely bet that they're going to be Latexa brand.

-If it says "takes 2-4 weeks to to ship" or something like that then it's probably Latexa (or another on demand brand)

-If it says molded, comes in elbow *as well as* opera length, and only comes in black, red and sometimes rarely yellow (I'll point those out in the links section) then it is most likely something from Denber Rubber. I'll be contracting these designations down a bit for the links as well.

-Elbow length on a "Premium" color usually just means a cut down version of Latexa (kinda duh? Maybe?)

-Also, "From the UK" (usually meaning "From Germany") is something I have also seen in the past that meant Latexa but that seems to have died out on the sites I was planning to use for examples so proceed with caution ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting with their list from my own buying experience:
https://twistmyrubberarm.com/ [resells Latexa ("premium" label, color incl white, pink, olive, met blue) *AND* Denber (molded, only red and black). They've got an ok Black Friday sale from what I've seen. They also have chlorination and thickness options that you can order with built in which is nice]

http://latex.moscow/ (this one is an anomaly to me since I have never bought from them, but they offer colors like Light Green Pearl, Pewter, and Antique Gold for their opera glove line ex http://latex.moscow/index.php?route=jou ... id=1110203. I cannot speak to their quality but if someone has bought these and liked them I wouldn't mind getting myself a pair)

https://www.latexcatfish.com/ (Never ordered from here either so mainly rumor here, the colors in the photos look a bit off from standard so it may be an in house operation. I'm guessing not a reseller just by the pictures though. They do offer latex thigh high boots though as a somewhat rarity on the internet and I've seen those come out well. Not much glove help sorry.)

https://www.invinciblerubber.com/ [resells Denber (available colors black, red, yellow)]

https://www.blackstyle.de/ [taking the reddit post's word for it that "(also resells Latexa)". I'll have to try it out one day]

https://vexclothing.com/ [personal experience, these are definitely all Latexa brand, and consequently are one of the "From the UK" sites I mentioned above. They have ok coupon codes sometimes that bring down the price a bit but only ever rarely to about $45 or so]

https://www.atsukokudo.com/ [No idea bc I'm not made of money or some Hollywood showoff]

https://libidex.com/ [personal experience, definitely Latexa. Don't buy them from here though, just checked and shipping to me alone is 15 GBP on top of the base price. Just order the same thing in the States. Their clothes on the other hand are great]

https://cheznoir.ca/ [personal experience these are mostly Denber (re: color and options). I haven't tried their premium ones but I am guessing they're just black Latexa. They are also one of the only providers of yellow elbow only gloves. They have the odd 20% off sale from time to time]

https://www.honour.co.uk/ *OR* https://www.honour-us.com/ [personal experience, they are all Denber. Depending on which version of the site you use you may have different pricing on shipping and such, and the sales may be a bit different. Decent shop to start with and if you sign up for their emails they send decent deals but I have only ever seen it go to 30% off once for their anniversary sale]

https://www.stockroom.com/ [personal experience, all Latexa. Sliiiiightly cheaper than Vex but much less color choice and if you're a medium they are *almost* always out of stock. They have sales but are still expensive]

https://thelatexstore.com/ [personal experience, sells both Latexa and Denber (per the usual "premium" vs not deal). This is a good place to potentially start if you are looking for baseline opera gloves since they don't usually come in under $30. The con of this store is that I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER SEEN THEM DO (NORMAL/HOLIDAY) SALE so what you see price-wise is basically going to be what you pay no matter what. They used to have an option to send your items to them to chlorinate them for about 15$ for a catsuit being the baseline but I don't see it on their site. Might be worth an email to them to see. Otherwise they sell items they chlorinate themselves before sending to you]
***NOTE: This is one place I might recommend if you wanted to get a lot of silicone lube/dressing aid. I don't usually see this in any size larger than 250 mL and even that is stretching it since a long time ago I had to order my Pjur lube stash from the UK to get larger than 100 mL. This store has 2500 mL for sale from Vividress and BeGloss (two very good companies from what I have heard) and this is for just under $100 USD. If you buy that you will be set for a veeeeeeery long time

https://www.simon-o.com/us/ [no real experience here, but their website lays it out pretty clearly that it is mainly Latexa being sold (look at the product code/order number). I say mainly bc of the old links that I went through this is literally the ONLY place I could find that *actually* sells Fetisso gloves of any kind https://www.simon-o.com/us/lange-latex- ... cba8ca44f7 (link for the lazy)]

https://www.rubberevashop.com/ [personal experience, but this may have changed. My understanding is that they are Latexa however they only offer black and red. There is a heavy weight option but compared to shipping from the UK/France for Rubber Eva and the same item from Twist My Rubber Arm, it's cheaper to do the latter. Rubber Eva's quality is good all around though for most of their items but they are pricey]

https://store.fetishfactory.com/ [never ordered from here but I have seen the gamut of different gloves in here. Mostly Denber with some Latexa from time to time but choice is a little barren right now most likely due to COVID and that they are based out of Florida. Has a decent selection when the supply chain works but your mileage may vary

https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/ *OR* https://www.lovehoney.com/ [personal experience, ALL Denber. I might be a bit biased here but I bought my first pair of fetish gloves from here mainly due to the price point (even in GBP they're cheap) and for the construction. They are not meant to last but if you at least wash the sweat and lube off of them they'll last a good while. They are the reason I mention the pinhole breaking though since it has a happened a few times and they usually die out from the thumb/index finger breakage, but with all of the sales that Lovehoney hands out on a weirdly often basis you can buy from the UK and have your stuff within a week without breaking the bank. I'd call these https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=40165 (they're out of black at the moment) a good baseline to figure out if you like this type of glove. Weirdly the US site also just stopped selling the gloves outright but I'm not sure why]

----------------------------------------------------------

Non-standard/Unknown/Neither gloves

https://polymorphe.com/ [Should be made in house. From conversations with them regarding how to get an opera variant that they don't have, they suggested ordering a wrist glove and then a matching arm sleeve https://polymorphe.com/shop/mens-latex/ ... men/gloves and https://polymorphe.com/shop/womens-late ... rm-sleeves to make that happen. They have a huge selection of colors that you can't find anywhere else, but the combined total of these items being $126 CAD has kept me from buying them as of yet unfortunately]

https://uniqdsn.com/ [only second hand experience here but from reviews and other people who have bought the shop owner apparently dips her own gloves and is really cool and nice. All of her items glove-wise come ONLY in wrist format but I haven't tried contacting her about it and kind of assume that's just her shtick]

https://rubber.com.au/collections/basic ... 7695034402 [From some old vague correspondence with them due to my interest in the silver color they no longer appear to stock, I do not know how they make these. I wonder if they are the same as the Latex.Moscow ones or not but they have about 3 options outside of the norm. Problem is they are in Australia so it may take a bit to get to the US]

----------------------------------------------------------

I agree with basically all of what Jake and Ratchakay said about chlorination, especially the don't do it yourself part. Too much room for error there.

---------------------------------------------------------

My TLDR; time:

If you are just starting out and I'm assuming buying one pair, my recommendation is to go with:
https://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=40165 OR https://twistmyrubberarm.com/index.php? ... 0szNchKguU for elbow length
Reasoning- I lean toward Lovehoney.co.uk because even if you order one pair from either you still end up saving if you order through the UK it's about 5-6$ cheaper still (15 GBP for LH gloves, 7.95 GBP for shipping = 23 GBP -> USD = 30.71 as of Aug 30, 2020) (27 USD for TMRA gloves, 10 USD for cheapest shipping = 37 USD).
I also say Lovehoney.co.uk bc I just ordered from them about a month ago and even during the pandemic they sent it to me tracked and it got to the US in a week exactly. I do not live on the coasts either.

For opera length gloves I would say go with
https://www.honour-us.com/moulded-rubbe ... -d108b.php bc even without sales, their standard fee of $20.99 USD for either elbow or opera gloves is pretty hard to beat. Using the US variant of the Honour site also gets you flat rate $4.99 shipping for US standard which totals to exactly the amount that TMRA is asking for base price before shipping.

A good price for elbow normal is about $15ish median and $20ish max
A good price for opera normal is about $20ish to $25 max

A good price for premium elbow is about $30 median
A good price for premium opera is about $45 low and $60 high

Both of these options are subject to the whims of price conversion and availability of the items obviously though. They are also both non chlorinated/don't have the option on the site built in.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ok whew we made it. I'm hoping this was helpful and I didn't just burn a few hours writing this only to end up shouting into the wind. If I am wrong about any of this or people want to add to it please feel free to do so. It's very easy to get the short end of the stick when dealing with a product like this and I'm always on the look out for decent sellers.

***If this needs to be moved to its own topic please let me know as well :)

Neat extensive overview of whats out there!
To second the Simon-O part, although it might not be too viable for people outside of europe, a place called Angenehm-Extrem (https://angenehm-extrem.de/en/) sells Latexa and an alright range of Fetisso things. Based in Hannover according to themselves. Got my elbow length gloves, socks and briefs from there. Had a look at Simon-O for reference and its only a few chlorinated articles. The german shops webpage looks a bit dated but quick dispatch via DHL with tracking, so nothing bad to say about them :)
