At one time Tesco did sell some disposable latex gloves and just hung them on those hooks on the shelves in random aisles. They were green, purple, orange, red and pink, I think...wonder if they still sell those! As for household, he's definitely gonna find some new ones there. Plenty of choice :D I'd just get that nervous, self-conscious feeling while browsing the rubber gloves section :P

I've visited NYC on several occasions, and always found Duane Reade good place to go - great selection, and there are stores on virtually every block! Try and find a bigger one though. I'm pretty positive they do long yellow gloves.

In the UK, Wilkinsons also have a good selection, and if you are going to Tesco, find a bigger store. Likewise with Sainsbury's.

Thanks guys! I've found that at all those chain stores, you really do need to go to the biggest locations, as the smaller ones usually only have a fraction of the rubber glove assortment. The best places for interesting gloves turned out to be (non-franchised) hardware stores and supermarkets. You can see and read about the results of my quest here.

Also, if anybody needs tips now on where to find the best gloves in New York... You know where to find me!
