No, it's a requirement when updating to the latest forum software:

Upgrading to phpBB 3.3 may cause some styles and extensions to no longer work. If you have a custom logo, it might need to be redone after the upgrade.

I just didn't have time anymore to figure it out. (And still don't. Maybe tomorrow.) But the answer should be somewhere here:

Could be, I don't know.

I didn't (consciously) change anything about the banner, btw. What change are you seeing?

The text looks different. It's a little smaller for the title and such.

Oh, right, yes that's just a placeholder for now. That's where the logo used to be.
