New VLC with Nvidia upscaling

Post by czol »

Just a heads up for folks using an Nvidia RTX 30 / 40 series graphics, VLC Player 3.0.19 has enabled support for Nvidia's Super Resolution technology.
You can download it here: https://downloads.videolan.org/testing/ ... -upscaler/ so far it's in beta and has no installer but you can still set it as your default video player if you like, just right click on the video, select 'open with' and search for the .EXE file in VLC's folder.

Furthermore, all you need to do to make it work is to right click on your desktop, open Nvidia Control Panel, go to video settings and enable RTX Video enhancements (set to highest, 4):

As far as I know it only works on GeForce 30/40 series (and possibly their Quadro equivalents) for now. I've been using it for some time and the results on old clips are quite astonishing.
