I've been thinking about the whole "fingerless glove thing" - I actually like them, but maybe because I don't compare them to gloves with full fingers? like, they're a completely different thing for me, just like sleeves with thumbholes. I find both of those things nice and cozy and a tad badass, and the latter are also amazing if you're working on a tablet that doesn't have the whole "palm rejection" down as much as you wish it had. so, a more practical reason.
but I would never compare them to gloves, they're a different entity for me

Hey girls,

this thread has been inactive for a while ^_^

I randomly watched a show on Amazon Prime: "The Marvelous Mrs Maisel" and really enjoyed it. It is quite a fun comedy but it caught me because of its story happening in the 50s.

Did anyone watch it? I love the vintage style and the constant presence of gloves. Gloves were like a must have every day and they must match with every outfit so I bet women used to have a huge collection from wrist to elbow length in so many colors and materials.

Most of the gloves worn by Mrs Maisel are mid-arm length suede gloves.

I bet you girls would love to revive such period where you can collect and wear all the gloves you want every day?

Yes I would like to see a comeback like that again. Gloves made a slight comeback back in 80s . But sadly I was too young. Maybe in the future

I'm with Ber on this one, they had a brief comeback in the 1980's but gloves as an integral part of an outfit will probably never be a thing again. I wish they would, obviously....

Well who knows... gloves started disappearing in the 90s but in the last years there has been a trend of mid-arm gloves with 3/4 coats... well only in winter and mostly by stars, not generalized...
we just wish that the top models and designers work more on getting back that culture for the public
Most people think that gloves are not practical and prefer naked hands for everyday activities, especially in our modern world where we are busy all the time and don't have time to appreciate fashion...

Movies that imagine a cyberpunk future where everything is controlled by robots, present a fashion where we will be wearing fancy clothes, silver shining materials and always in gloves...
I don't really like that type of fashion but I keep hoping that gloves can have a good comeback one day

i still think gloves were never really "gone"

perhaps less popular, not worn by any female (and when she does get gloved, its temporarly for special reason)

they are for sale worldwide in shops, women do wear them for many reasons (outdoors and in)

but like you said - we just gotta push them bit forword so it gets to more and more ppl ;)

then we will live in a gloved utopia :D

Absolutely. Music artists like Sade and Chaka Khan had delightful performances wearing sexy leather gloves in the 80's. And I have many amazing 80s fashion photos.. I feel the glove culture was pretty sprawling back then.

I too am with Ber on their view. I can remember a time in the 80’s when a number of my mom’s friends wore leather gloves regularly along with the leather fashions of the time. It was a great time to be an impressionable youth..

The above being said, i would love it if gloves made a resurgence to a main stream must have and not just a cold weather accessory.

Definitely wish they would come back into style I bet everyone in here would it and be in their glory at least i know I would! It has to start some where and maybe it has to start with us the ones that want it to come back. I know a few people on here wear them in public and don’t care at all which is awesome. I try to wear them out in public sometimes. I love wearing my nitric gloves to drive and as soon as my hands get cold I try to sneak my knit gloves right on! I feel like people just need to see more it and think it is cool again. Then maybe just maybe we would have something.

If I ever seen some wearing gloves out of context i try to compliment them or even join them if I don’t have them on already.
