Exactly, that's why I'll propose with a pair of fancy gloves instead

Right, but as he said, its hard to break out of the cultural norm if you are American.

I know sadly, and of course I am joking but also it depends on your partner. I got engaged before and didn't work and yeah she was demanding and costed me a salary worth for a ring.
My current partner is the complete opposite, she just wants a symbolic ring and would get mad if I spend a lot on it

That's awesome! Now you just have to nail the wants expensive gloves landing!
Although really a lot of glove prices are through the roof right now anyways, all gloves are expensive gloves.

Yes, while that may be true it was not my intention to boast, brag or anything like that. More to amplify the cost of our fetish. The “kicker” of this is that we were there buying a bag for her and the gloves were an “extra” little bonus for she and I.Rommeltje wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 10:17 pmI guess we have a new number 1.Luckyhubby wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 9:06 pmTo date the most expensive pair was $1735 for a pair of Chanel silk lined black leather gloves for my then fiancé now wife.

Yeah, no, I get it. If I'd have that kind of cash to spend, I'd probably buy a pair or two of some really expensive boots for my gf. (Alhough - while I've seen some expensive boots - I'm wondering if I've ever seen a pair that cost quite as much as your Chanel gloves. )Luckyhubby wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 9:02 pmYes, while that may be true it was not my intention to boast, brag or anything like that. Like going back to remarry your wife? Would she accept a proposition with gloves?
The thing I am really looking forward to, is that my partner is open to wear long gloves with the wedding dress when things get serious
Anyway, I think we're getting off the main topic of this thread

Things get stupid expensive when they are made by designers. You could most assuredly get made to measure crotch boots from Fernando Berlin for half that price, but you could easily spend a lot more on mass produced "Branded" ankle boots.Rommeltje wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:24 pmYeah, no, I get it.
