RE: countrylatexglover's Glove Search

This post is intended to answer countrylatexglover's question posted on Discord.....

The gloves that you want are called “Police Patrol Gloves”, sometimes referred to as “Police Tactical Gloves” or “Police Touch Gloves”. There used to be only two styles: “Officer Dress” and “Patrol Touch Gloves 2.0”. Both are short cuff (wrist length), unlined gloves made from Ultra-thin Cabretta Leather. Cabretta is leather that is made from the hair of a sheep or goat native to the Andean region of South America. Although, they are nearly the same, the “Officer Dress” glove has a snap closure at the wrist, while the “Patrol Touch Glove 2.0” has what is called a “Gathered Wrist”, which is essentially a “cinch wrist closure” at the back of the wrist. There are only a few companies that still make them, but the two that have manufactured them the longest are Damascus and Tough Gloves. Both companies produce police patrol, SWAT, and military tactical gear. Their short-cuff, police gloves are marketed as Dyna-Thin, because they need to be extra sensitive in order to effectively draw and pull the trigger of a side arm or rifle as well as frisk suspects and perform body searches. You should be able to pick up a dime from the floor wearing these gloves. I used to wear the “Officer Dress” patrol gloves with wrist snap enclosure. I had a couple pairs by both Damascus and Tough Gloves and can attest that they are the most “ultra-thin” unlined leather gloves you can buy on the market.

A good pair of gloves should appear tight, but never feel overly restrictive when wearing them. When choosing your correct size, you should be able to open your hand, fully extend out and wiggle your fingers and thumbs with ease. If you feel any pull on your palms and thumbs, and experience resistance when stretching out and wiggling your fingers, then the gloves are too small.

Stompers Gloves sells the “Officer Dress” with wrist snap closure

The sizes include Men’s Small ( Size 8 ), Men’s XS (Size 7) and Men’s 2XS (Size 6)

You’ll notice that the Men’s Size Medium (9), Small (8), X-Small (7) and 2X-Small (6) are marketed and sold as women’s 2X-Large, Large, Medium, and X-Small respectively. These gloves are not unisex and are not designed to fit women’s hands. However, since police gloves are not manufactured for women, they market the smaller sizes to female police officers and military personnel.

Galls sells the Damascus “Patrol Touch Gloves 2.0” in Small, 2X-Small, and 3X-Small:

Rothco manufactures its own version of the “Police Duty Search Gloves”, but only in a small:
